We expect that almost every Hearing Officer decision regarding MMCCs will be appealed, and that each applicant will then have to plead their case to the Planning Commission for a final decision. How can applicants best prepare for their meeting with the Planning Commission? Former head of San Diego’s Development Services Department Marcela Escobar-Eck will answer this question and more during a two-hour roundtable discussion and Q&A regarding the next step in the city’s complicated MMCC permitting process. Bring your questions to the table and join ARMA on Friday, December 12th from 3:00-5:00PM.
Who We Are
The Alliance for Responsible Medicinal Access (ARMA) is a coalition of Southern California members of the medicinal cannabis business community and the patients they serve. Our mission is to ensure responsible, legal access to medicinal cannabis for patients and to promote the common business interests of our members. We advocate for clear, reasonable municipal laws and help our members operate responsibly and in compliance with the law. Responsible cannabis businesses can be a positive force for patients and the communities they serve.
What We Do
We are the voice of our members before local governments and other governing bodies. ARMA educates and advocates for the interests of medical marijuana businesses, patients and providers in Southern California.
ARMA is your resource for information and analysis of federal, state and local developments that affect all sectors of the community. We host informative events designed to educate the community regarding municipal ordinances and regulations including land use, zoning and other measures. Our networking events are designed to support businesses, facilitate opportunities and foster partnerships.
Our advocates include medical, legal, public policy, media relations, and government affairs experts that help local regulators create effective and responsible medicinal cannabis patient programs for our region.
Our goal is to ensure municipalities have clear, reasonable, practicable ordinances and regulations on the books that enable licensed facilities, providers, manufacturers and all sectors of the medical marijuana community to operate in full compliance with the law.
ARMA is a 501(c)(6) membership organization that engages in legislative advocacy and public education. Our sister organization, the Alliance for Responsible Medicinal Access PAC, is a political action committee created to directly and indirectly fund candidates who support safe, permanent and responsible medicinal access for patients in the county of San Diego.
